Our Physicians
| | Kim Burgess, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 8:30am - 5pm
Dr. Burgess earned her undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 1989. She went on to Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas, where she graduated in 1993 in the top 25% of her class. She completed her pediatric residency training at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital in 1996.
After residency, Dr. Burgess began private practice with Texas Children's Pediatric Associates in Sugar Land, TX. In 1998 she moved to the Dallas area and joined Cook Children's Physicians Network, becoming the founding partner of the Flower Mound CCPN office. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Burgess met her husband in Houston, and they married in 1994. They have three children. She loves to spend time with her family, and enjoys scrapbooking, step aerobics, and church activities. They are members of Rockpoint Church. Dr. Burgess has also been a member of the Flower Mound Rotary Club since 2000. |

| | Beth Montigue, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Hours: Mon 9am - 12pm, Tue and Wed 9am - 5pm
Dr. Montigue earned her bachelor's degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas and her M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. At U.T. Southwestern she met her husband, Dr. Tré Montigue, who is an anesthesiologist.
Dr. Montigue completed her pediatric residency at Alabama Children's Hospital and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Montigue and her husband have two daughters, Lauren and Lindsey, who keep Beth and Tré very happy but very busy! |

| | Aimee Vafaie, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Vafaie was born in Lubbock, Texas and raised in Kingsville, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biology and English Literature, graduating magna cum laude from Rice University in Houston, and earned her M.D. from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. She completed her pediatrics residency at the Baylor College of Medicine, which is at Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Vafaie has earned a number of awards, including the Macnamara Award for Contributions to Child Health and Safety, and the Milton B. Rosenbluth Foundation Travel Grant, for medical study abroad. In her senior year of medical school, she studied tropical infectious diseases in East Africa and South India, and obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Queensland in Australia. She has two publications: Advocacy 101: A Guide for Young Pediatricians, and "Medicating Life?" in Let Me Listen to Your Heart, a collection of essays edited by David Svahn, M.D., and Alan Kozak, M.D. She volunteered at Central Dallas Ministries Community Health Services one day per week from 2005-2009. She is currently on the Cook Children's Physician Network Executive Committee for electronic medical records implementation. She also is co-editor for the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Young Physicians quarterly news magazine.
Dr. Vafaie is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan, who recently completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and now works as an emergency physician at Parkland and at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. They have two children, Adelaide and William, who fill their lives with laughter.
Dr. Vafaie is grateful that her patients have taught her Spanish. She also speaks conversational Persian (Farsi).
